Summer Scholarship Test (HSPT) Prep Courses

Archbishop Carroll High School, in partnership with Grace B. Opdyke Educational Services, is offering three opportunities for rising 8th grade students to prepare for the Carroll Scholarship Exam (HSPT) this Summer.  Two sections will be eight days each with 15 students per class, and one section will be four days with a class size capped at 28 students.

Section 1: July 17-20 and 24-27, 10:00 am – 11:30 am — $250

Section 2: August 7-10, 9:00 am – 12:00 pm — $100

Section 3: August 14-17 and 21-24, 10:00 am – 11:30 am — $250

We strongly recommend registering in advance as space is limited and we have moved to a waiting list in past years.  Please contact the Admissions Office, 610-688-7610 x117, with any questions and to register.

Fall 8th Grade Scholarship Test Dates (HSPT)

Saturday, October 14, 2017   8:00 am – 11:00 am

Saturday, October 21, 2017   8:00 am – 11:00 am 

Wednesday, October 25, 2017   4:00 pm – 7:00 pm

Students receiving Academic Merit Scholarships have achieved scores on the scholarship exam (HSPT) of 90 or higher in the National Percentile (NP) and 122 or higher for the Cognitive Skills Quotient (CSQ).  Scholarship awards range from full to partial tuition and are awarded for all four years of high school at Archbishop Carroll.We encourage all prospective 8th grade students to take the HSPT at Archbishop Carroll to be considered for an Academic Merit Scholarship.   Students are advised to arrive at least 15 minutes prior to the scheduled time as the exam begins promptly on the hour.  We also recommend that students bring water and a snack with them.

This is a great opportunity to see our 60-acre campus and meet our faculty and staff! Student Ambassadors will be leading school tours throughout the event.  Carroll President, Mr. Francis Fox, and Carroll Principal, Dr. Anchen Schulz, will be speaking in the Curley Family Library/Hageney Student Union Center.  Learn about the student-centered academics, active religious ministry, and exciting happenings at Archbishop Carroll!  Athletic and student activity representatives will be present throughout the day as well.  

All walk-in visitors are welcome and encouraged!

7th Grade Visitation Day

Wednesday, March 14, 2018   8:30 am – 2:00 pm

All current 7th graders are welcome!  Come experience a fun-filled and informative day at Archbishop Carroll High School, guided by our student leaders and volunteers.  Meet our teachers and have a question and answer session with Mr. Fox, our President, and Dr. Schulz, our Principal.  The event begins at 8:30 am, followed by the day’s group activities, with afternoon dismissal at 2:00 pm.  Registration will open in early 2018.

7th Grade Practice Scholarship Test (Pre-HSPT)
