TECHNOLOGY

The school maintains four fully networked computer labs connected to the school’s Intranet and the Internet:

Multi-discipline Lab for utilization by classes for specific research and projects.

Writing Lab which is available to the English Department to assist students to enhance their writing skills, and with the Internet resources students are able to develop their background in literature.

Library Lab which allows students to carry out independent research throughout the school day.

Business Lab that is utilized for the required Sophomore Technology Explorations Course along with electives designed to enhance the technology proficiency of the student. Students are encouraged to utilize PowerPoint and Word in their classroom presentations.            

The library provides home and school access to the following databases: all POWER library resources including Ebscohost, OUP Ready Reference, Grove’s Dictionaries of Art and Music, as well as individual subscriptions to ABC-Clio history databases, Gale Virtual Reference Library, Gale Literature Resource Center and Science Reference Center, as well as the Encyclopedia Americana, ProQuest, Wilsonweb.

  Science classes make use of a networked wireless Computer Science Lab to conduct experiments and analyze data.

  A 5 station networked Computer Lab is located in the Art Room where the Adobe Photoshop Program is integrated into the Art curriculum enabling students to engage in related research projects via the Internet.

  Each classroom is equipped with a SmartBoard, projector and computer. Internet access, Office products and textbook resources are also supplied to enrich student learning.

  The school has two mobile laptop carts, each containing 16 computers. This brings the computer lab to the classroom.
