Sincere Gibbs ’18 (above) set a new Carroll record when he finished fifth in Boys 100 Fly at the Philadelphia Catholic League Meet, held the morning of Feb. 23-24, at LaSalle University.  Gibbs, time 53.49, broke John Howard’s school record of 53.70.

Overall, the girl swimmers finished fourth while the boys finished seventh.

In the District 12 AAA Championship Meet, held the evening of Feb. 23-24 at LaSalle, the girls again finished fourth while the boys were sixth.

District Meet highlights:

  • Girls 200 Medley Relay placed third in AAA (Julia Crawford, Kacey Berardinelli, Julia Dellaratta, Victoria Patota)
  • Victoria Patota placed third in the 200 Free
  • Kacey Berardinelli placed sixth in the Girls 200 Free
  • Julia Dellaratta finished second in the Girls 200 IM
  • Julia Crawford finished sixth in AAA Girls 50 Free
  • Julia Dellaratta second in the Girls 100 Fly
  • Sincere Gibbs placed fifth in the Boys 100 Fly, besting the Carroll school record for 100 Fly for the second time that day.
  • Victoria Patota finished second in the Girls 100 Breast

In the Girls 400 Free Relay (Victoria Patota, Schuyler Goch, Julia Crawford, Julia Dellaratta), the Patriots finished fourth, just .8 of a second behind St. Hubert.
