Sister Maureen McDermott, IHM, PhD, Superintendent for Secondary Schools, Office of Catholic Education, has announced the 2018 Archdiocese of Philadelphia Fall Sports Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll, which recognizes the high school student-athletes of the Archdiocese who earned first or second academic honors in the first quarter marking period while competing in cross country, field hockey, soccer, golf, girls’ tennis, football and girls’ volleyball.
“I commend these students for their high achievement in the classroom and sportsmanship in athletic competition during the Fall semester,” Sister Maureen said. “These young men and women truly embody the student-athlete experience.”
“It’s a testament to our kids,” said Carroll Athletic Director Tom Quintois. “The time and effort that they put into their athletics, but more importantly, their academics. Nothing makes me prouder than that. This recognition from the archdiocese speaks volumes about our parents, students, faculty and coaches, of Carroll’s philosophy of developing our student-athletes spiritually, academically and socially.”
Here is the list of 139 Carroll student-athletes (out of 1,218 across the archdiocese) who are members of the 2018 AOP Fall Sports Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll.
