The evening of Prayer and Inspiration begins with music by Archbishop Carroll Class of ‘73 Alumni Dennis Chiccino, founder of Chico’s Vibe. After the music, inspirational readings and witnesses of faith are shared.“What’s really neat is that Carroll has now taken the lead on group prayer in the Philadelphia area,” added Morris. He explained that the Prayer and Inspiration night has inspired significant reconnection amongst alumni. “Every day, over 400 graduates of Archbishop Carroll say a prayer for our daily list of people in need, through a group text message. In addition to this, we connect and talk about life in general. We have a text group for every class from the 70’s and 80’s.”“As we have gotten older, we’ve realized what good people we met at Archbishop Carroll. At the time we may not have realized it, but very kind individuals, who went on to do great things, surrounded us during our four years here. What’s really fun is reconnecting with all of these former classmates.”
If you’d like to be added to the group text message for your Class, come to the Prayer Service and Inspiration Night, and Ed and his team will add you into a group. If you cannot make the service, private message Ed on Facebook, and he will connect with you.
The next evening of Prayer and Inspiration is Monday, Sept. 9, at St. Norbert’s Parish in Paoli at 7:00pm. “Our goal is to connect with as many alumni as possible,” commented Morris. Speakers from past Prayer and Inspiration Nights include Barry Kirsch, Tommy “Farmer” McCoy, Eustace Mita, Joe Rogers, Joe DeBarberie, Marita Coffey Finley, Frank Fox, Kevin Mullen, Joe Keefer, Diane Zwaan, Dennis Chiccino, and Greg Webster. Among others, the readers for Monday include Carroll’s Director of Development Nora McGeever and alumni Chrissie Gutzler.
“The prayer and inspirational vigils have connected the Carroll alumni base in a profound way. The group continues to grow, and reminds us daily of the impact this special school has had on all of us. We are truly grateful to “EddieMo” and the group’s founding members,” said Archbishop Carroll President Frank Fox ’77.
Our community hopes you can join us this Monday for an evening of Prayer and Inspiration!
