Investing in Your Child’s Future

An Archbishop Carroll Catholic education is an investment in your child’s future.  We understand the significant commitment each family makes to provide their son or daughter with a quality Catholic, college preparatory education that equips them for their future.  We are very proud of Carroll’s extremely diverse student body that reflects the broad mix of communities that make up our school.

Applying for Financial Aid

For the 2020-21 school year, financial aid applications and the financial need analysis for the Archdiocese of Philadelphia and Archbishop Carroll High School will be processed by FACTS. For priority consideration, families are encouraged to complete the application process by December 31, 2019.

How to Apply:

– Go to https://online.factsmgt.com/aid

– Follow the instructions to complete an online financial aid application, using your 2018 tax information.

– You will be required to submit your 2018 tax information.

– The Financial Aid Committee will review requests for tuition assistance from students accepted by Archbishop Carroll after the online financial aid application and $30 fee have been submitted.

To finalize your financial aid application, you must submit your 2018 tax return by March 15, for income verification.

BLOCS Scholarship

Scholarship applications through Business Leaders Organized for Catholic Schools (BLOCS) for the 2019-2020 school year are now open. BLOCS, is an independent charitable organization supported by individuals, companies, firms, and foundations of all sizes in the five-county Philadelphia region. Since 1980, BLOCS has invested in the lives of tens of thousands of children throughout the Philadelphia area, including some of the poorest neighborhoods in the City.  BLOCS works within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania EITC & OSTC guidelines and uses an outside scholarship administrator to determine eligibility for scholarship grants. Over the past several years, funds for scholarship support have increased. Unfortunately so has the demand, which continues to significantly exceed supply.  For questions about the application process, please contact FACTS at 866-441-4637. Archbishop Carroll Scholarships

Academic Merit Scholarship 

Each Fall, 8th grade students can earn an Academic Merit Scholarship to Archbishop Carroll High School. This 4-year scholarship is awarded to students with outstanding academic records and high achievement on the Carroll Scholarship Exam Students taking the October scholarship tests at Carroll and receiving awards will be notified in December. To be eligible for a scholarship, students are required to submit an admissions application and school records and transcripts.

Dates and Registration Information:
 Please register at least 48 hours before the test date. 

  • Thursday, November 7, 2019, 4:00-7:00 pm
  • Archbishop Carroll’s School Access Code is Z5
  • Scholarship Test Fee: $50

Scouts Grant

A $2,500 scholarship will be granted to three students who have been a part of Scouts of America for at least two years. This is a need based-grant renewable each of the four years at Carroll, provided that the student continues with the Scout program. Verification will be asked for each year. To apply, please send a Scout leader recommendation letter, along with troop information to mgatta@jcarroll.org. Please note that since this is a need-based grant, a FACTS application must be completed and verified for tuition assistance need.

Salute to Service Grant

A $2,500 scholarship will be granted to three students who have a parent or primary guardian who is an active duty military member, an active or retired law enforcement employee or firefighter, and/or a military branch veteran. This is a need based-grant renewable each of the four years at Carroll, but the student must have an overall 7th grade average of a 94 or better. To apply, please send the parent or guardian service information to mgatta@jcarroll.org Please note that since this is a need-based grant, a FACTS application must be completed and verified for tuition assistance need.

Catholic Identity Grant

A $2,500 scholarship will be granted to three students who have a 94 or better final grade for Religion in 7th grade and who have been active in youth ministry for at least two years; an example of this would be serving as an altar server or participating in a youth group. To apply please send a recommendation letter from a pastor or youth group leader to mgatta@jcarroll.org. Please note that since this is a need-based grant, a FACTS application must be completed and verified for tuition assistance need.

Lawrence J. Nowlan Scholarship for the Arts 

The Lawrence J. Nowlan Scholarship for the Arts is offered for all disciplines of performing and visual arts.  Rising 9th grade students must submit a completed application and a piece of work or record of performance to the Admissions Office for consideration. 

Archdiocese of Philadelphia and Other Foundation Scholarships

There are a number of scholarships available through the Archdiocese and outside foundations, including but not limited to:

  •  The Monsignor John Mitchell Scholarship
    Monsignor Mitchell served as a priest of the Archdiocese from 1939 through 1981. During that time, he was the Pastor of Saint Ignatius of Loyola and Saint Francis de Sales Parishes in West Philadelphia, where he was known for his faithful ministry to African American Catholics.  In light of this, the Monsignor Mitchell Scholarship Fund supports high school students in the Archdiocese of Philadelphia who are Catholic and African American, with academic ability and financial need.  One (or more, if economically feasible) one-year scholarship(s), up to $2,500, will be awarded annually based upon the determination of the Selection Committee. Student recipients must reapply each year.
