Leave a Legacy at Carroll

A legacy gift is a powerful way to live out your faith and ensure that Archbishop John Carroll High School continues to inspire young men and women for generations to come.

Throughout your life, you have made thoughtful decisions shaped by faith, family, and purpose. Legacy giving allows you to extend those values beyond your lifetime, after you have provided for the people you love, by supporting Carroll’s mission of Catholic education and academic excellence. Planned giving is not about the size of a gift; it is about intention, gratitude, and belief in the future.

By including Carroll in your will, retirement plan, or life insurance policy, you help form future Patriots to lead, serve, and contribute to the global community, grounded in Catholic values.

Ways to Leave a Legacy

Bequests
A bequest is a simple and impactful way to support Carroll. You can provide for loved ones first while leaving a lasting expression of your faith and values.

Ways to make a bequest:

  • Include Carroll in your will or revocable trust
  • Name Carroll as a beneficiary of an IRA, 401(k), 403(b), or pension
  • Name Carroll as a beneficiary of a life insurance policy

Types of bequests:

  • Percentage of your estate
  • Specific dollar amount or asset
  • Balance or residue of your estate

Benefits of a bequest:

  • Care for family first, then support Carroll
  • Potential estate tax advantages
  • Create a lasting legacy of faith and gratitude

The Patriot Society
Bequest donors are recognized as members of The Patriot Society, honoring alumni and friends whose legacy ensures Carroll’s future and supports generations of Patriots.

FreeWill
If you do not yet have a will, you can create one at no cost through FreeWill and include Carroll in a way that reflects your values and faith. http://FreeWill.com/AOPSchools

A Lasting Impact Through the Carroll Endowment

A legacy gift may support Carroll’s endowment or another area meaningful to you. The Presidential Patriot Endowment provides long-term support for students, programs, and faculty, helping sustain Carroll’s Catholic mission for generations.

IRA Charitable Rollover

For some, legacy giving also includes making an impact today.

If you are 70½ or older, you can give directly from your IRA via a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD). Because charitable organizations do not pay income tax on retirement assets, this is a tax-efficient way to support Carroll.

Benefits:

  • Avoid taxes on transfers up to $111,000
  • Satisfy required minimum distribution (RMD)
  • Reduce taxable income, even without itemizing
  • Make an immediate impact on Carroll’s students and programs
Your faith. Your values. Your legacy—carried forward at Carroll. ❤️🤍
