Ms. Marguerite DiMattia brings more than thirty years of experience to Archbishop Carroll’s Guidance Department. She has worked in secondary schools within the Archdiocese of Philadelphia including Archbishop Carroll. In each capacity, she has provided counseling and support services to students.

For the past four years at Carroll, Ms. DiMattia has provided student assistance support services to the school community. In that capacity, she has come to know the students and the school. She has built an excellent rapport with the other counselors and staff in the Guidance Department, as well as the students and faculty members of Archbishop Carroll.

Ms. DiMattia is experienced in dealing with crisis situations, something that every Head of Guidance must be able and prepared to do. Through her work, she has helped students build personal and academic skills, such as study habits, stress management, and resiliency. Additionally, with the support of her CarrollU team, she will guide Archbishop Carroll students in every stage of the college enrollment process- from introductory meetings with freshmen; to applications, essay, and interview preparation; to college acceptance and decisions. Moreover, Ms. DiMattia and her team will help students discern their educational and personal goals in becoming responsible adults.

“We are most fortunate to have Ms. DiMattia join us full-time in this expanded capacity as Head of Guidance and CarrollU,” said Principal Dr. Anchen Schulz. “The depth of her knowledge and the breadth of her experience will lead both CarrollU and our guidance department in new directions to better serve the current and emerging needs of all our students. Teachers and students who have been working with Ms. DiMattia will now be able to build upon the relationships they already have. In addition, others who have not yet sought Ms. DiMattia’s advice and assistance will now have the opportunity to do so.”

We wish Ms. DiMattia the very best in her new position.
