Safe Environment Training
Personal safety for our students is our highest priority, especially when it comes to protecting them from sexual misconduct and violence.
Every member of the Archbishop John Carroll High School faculty and staff, including teachers, priests, deacons and even volunteers, must undergo a rigorous background investigation and complete a series of Safe Environment Training courses. These measures ensure everyone working with Carroll’s students can uphold the moral standards set by the Archdiocese of Philadelphia’s Office of Child and Youth Protection.
Background checks and clearances
Archdiocesan policy requires all school employees, contract employees and coaches to possess clearances as required by Pennsylvania law. This includes any individual 14 years of age or older applying for or in a paid position as an employee responsible for the welfare of a student or having direct contact with students. Additionally, any volunteer (unpaid) who may have any possible contact with or responsibility for students on a regular basis must complete clearances as well.
All staff, coaches andvolunteers who have regular contact with students are required to undergo mandatory Safe Environment Training through the Archdiocese of Philadelphia.
All clearances and certificates must be uploaded to our FamilyID site. It is free and secure. Once you create an account, or log in to your current account, locate the “Volunteers 2018-2019 Athletics” under the list of open programs. This is for ALL VOLUNTEERS AT ARCHBISHOP CARROLL. Find the one category that fits you best.
If you have lived in Pennsylvania for fewer than 10 years, you need to be fingerprinted through IdentGo to participate in the Safe Environment Program.
