May 13 was an exciting day at Archbishop Carroll as Bishop Joseph L. Coffey ’78 celebrated the May Crowning Mass with the Carroll community, a Church ritual that honors the Virgin Mary with a garland of flowers.  Guests present included family, friends and classmates of Bishop Coffey.

“The month of May is dedicated to our Blessed Mother,” said Father Michael Speziale. “We consecrate our school to her intercession during the May Crowning Mass.” Catherine Sexton ’19 was May Queen, escorted by Matthew McGroary ’19.

Additionally, as part of the funds raised from Patriothon, Archbishop Carroll presented Ms. Maureen McCullough, regional director of Catholic Relief Services, with a check of $11, 544.41, at the end of Mass. Catholic Relief Services is an international humanitarian agency of the Catholic community that assists underprivileged and helpless people to overcome emergencies and obstacles, earn a living through agriculture and access affordable health care.
