The Board of Directors at Archbishop John Carroll High School in Radnor has expanded by four.  Joining the board are:

Juliana M. Studer ’07
, assistant director of Tutoring Services and professor of First Year English at Villanova University in Villanova, Penn. DeVon S. Jackson ‘96, director of Diversity & Inclusion at Salesianum School in Wilmington, Del.  Joseph G. Keefer ’76, executive vice president and chief lending officer of Bryn Mawr Trust in Bryn Mawr, Penn. James A. Smith III ‘76, executive vice president and chief financial officer of Campus Apartments LLC, in Philadelphia.“The breadth of experience of our new board members is impressive,” said Board Chairman John W. Goldschmidt ’76.“These highly accomplished individuals will infuse new energy into an already vibrant board and add to our professional depth in education, finance, business and leadership.  I am looking forward to their active participation as we continue our short- and long-range planning for Carroll’s future — which is very bright.”

Juliana M. Studer ’07 Prior to joining Villanova University in Villanova, Penn., in 2017, Studer was assistant director of Tutoring Services and academic resources coordinator at Endicott College in Beverly, Mass.  She received a Bachelor of Arts degree in English, with a Writing and Rhetoric Concentration from Villanova and an MFA in Fiction Writing at Lesley University.

DeVon S Jackson ‘96 A seasoned educator and counselor, Jackson earned a Bachelor of Arts in Communication with a minor in African Studies, and a Master of Science in Secondary Counseling & Human Relations from Villanova.  Prior to joining the highly acclaimed Salesianum School in 2017, Jackson served as Villanova’s Assistant Director of Student Engagement and Cultural Development, and in the Office of Student Development beginning in 2008.

Joseph G. Keefer ’76 
A graduate of Brown University in Providence, R.I., where he earned a BA in Economics, Keefer was awarded an MBA from Drexel University in Philadelphia. He served as divisional vice president at First Pennsylvania Bank/Corestates before joining Bryn Mawr Trust in 1991.

James A. Smith III ‘76 
Smith’s financial experience is extensive.  He served as PRG Real Estate Management Chief Financial Officer/Chief Information Officer; Raelen Properties Chief Financial Officer; Aegis Investment Resources Investment Manager and Corporate Comptroller, and Arthur Anderson & Co. Senior Accountant.  He earned a Bachelor of Science in Finance with a concentration in Accounting from The Wharton School of The University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia.

“This is a diverse group that brings immense talent and experience to the board,” said Carroll President Francis E. Fox ’77.  “I am looking forward to working with Julie, DeVon, Joe and Jim as they join a board that is working proactively to grow and improve the Carroll experience.”

The new board members will begin their terms this June.
